The solution is specifically designed for public transport and Boomerang is the leading supplier in the North European market. The Boomerang suite works hand in hand with the new generation of automatic fare collection systems, travel planners, and real-time trafiic systems and lets public transport organizations offer personalized products, services and two-way communications through web, mobile and other channels.
Boomerang is a solution within CSC, a leading global IT organization with over 92,000 employees and a strong focus on the public sector. The solution is part of CSC' rail & mass transit solution portfolio.
The Boomerang development team is based in Malmö, Sweden with sales taking place regional CSC office account executives working within CSC's transportation vertical.
Boomerang customers include the transport authorities in the two largest scandinavian capitals: Stockholm (SL) and Copenhagen (Movia) and Boomerang is the de facto standard for customer claims handling in public transport in Sweden.
Our Story
After 300 years of talking about it, in 1999 Sweden and Denmark built a bridge that connected the two countries. While most people were very excited, Skånetrafiken, the Swedish transport authority serving the region on the Swedish side, was challenged by a big jump in travel and, more importantly, a very large increase in the volume of questions from travelers. To handle the situation, Skånetrafiken scanned the market for customer claims solutions but found no product that fit the special needs of public transport. Instead, a custom solution was built by the Swedish consulting firm Primix. Through acquisitions, Boomerang is today a part of CSC. For Skånetrafiken, the initial challenge turned into an opportunity to set the wheels in motion in moving from a traditional old-school mass transit mind-set towards a focus on the traveler resulting in a radical increase in customer satisfaction. For the Boomerang team, it was the beginning of a product suite that today is used by over 17 public transport organizations.
